“We are now positioned to stabilize our fight for housing, education and labor protections for all Americans 50 years after the three pieces of landmark civil rights legislations in 1964, 1965 and 1968. This opportunity is truly Heaven sent. Dr. Gary Lacefield, Assistant Professor and Director of the Institute of Mediation, Arbitration, Strategic Studies & Forensics in the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice, and Strategic Studies, at Tarleton State University in Fort Worth and I are excited about the possibilities,” says, Rev. Kyev Tatum, the president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dr. Gary Lacefield and Rev. Kyev Tatum look forward to this new faith-based collaboration.

“This is a watershed moment for poor people being grossly exploited by these unscrupulous businesses. We must and will end these hurtful and harmful practices one family home at a time. As Dr. King said in his last sermon, it’s time to redistribute the pain,” says, the Rev. Kyev P. Tatum, Sr., president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Fort Worth, Texas (Fort Worth SCLC).

According to their website, CityVision Services Inc., is a non-profit established to provide education and outreach to consumers and housing providers, conduct testing, and help protected class members exercise their civil rights for the purpose of obtaining and/or maintaining their fair housing opportunities through faith based initiatives.

These faith based initiatives help low income and minority families, traditionally disenfranchised consumers, protect their housing civil rights through education, outreach, and through faith based conferences, churches, apartment complex meetings, and by assisting consumers to protect their fair housing rights through the perfecting and filing of Fair Housing discrimination complaints with the United Stated Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”), the Consumer Finance Protections Bureau (“CFPB”), FairHousing Assistance Program agencies (‘FHAP’), and any other medium known now or in the future.

Further, the corporation shall serve churches, the local community and community leaders, Community Development Corporations (‘CDCs”), and Community Housing Development Organizations (‘CHDOs’) in establishing change in accordance with their Faith and the Fair Housing Act, as amended in 1988.
