San Francisco MBLP Kicks off its Summer Session

This was the first week of the San Francisco MBLP. The program is being sponsored by the San Francisco Recreation & Parks Dept, San Francisco Housing Authority, San Francisco Police Dept, and The Bryant Mortuary.
Games are played in the Western Addition at Hamilton Recreation Center and in Hunter's Point at Joseph Lee Recreation Center. Earlier games will be for the younger children through the Henderson Program. Later games will be for the 17-25 year olds.

2010 marks the 15th Texas Black Sports Hall of Fame, honoring athletes, coaches,and other figures who made Black sports history in Texas great. This coveted sports program operates under the umbrella of the Friends of Sports History at The African American Museum. First introduced in 1996, the TBSHOF chronicles the sports history contribution made by African American Texans. The general public submits the nominees, and then a panel of judges( including journalists in sports and media) makes the final selection. 2010 inductee, for Basketball: AMBLP National Director, James Silas, two- time All Star with the San Antonio Spurs. Congradulations.

We are sorry to lose a program that has been part of Midnight basketball League for almost 18 years. Hope you all can come back sooner than later.

Eight week program in the Sunnydale/Visitation Valley Area of San Francisco, California

Beginning Wednesday, March 2, 2011. SFMBLP will do an 8 week pilot program for the Sunnydale/Visitation area of San Francisco. It will be held at the old Luther Burbank Middle School(June Jordan High School). This area of the city do not get a lot of resources like the other neighborhoods of San Francisco. Midnight Basketball League Program will help the area find themselves to make the program work. Mr. Kim Mitchell is the Contact person for the program. (415) 637-7859.

Due to a lack of interest due to the economy, the 25th Anniversary Conference has been pushed back to August of 2012. (August 8 - 11, 2012 to be exact).
